Loy Krathong 2026 in Bangkok

On the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, people float krathongs, small offerings usually made of banana leaf and flowers, to honour the water spirits. Bangkok's main spots are the Chao Phraya riverside (ICONSIAM, Asiatique, the Wat Arun side), the lakes at Lumphini and Benjakitti/Benjasiri parks, and temples and khlongs across Thonburi.

The city usually opens dozens of public parks for floating, with bans on foam krathongs, sky lanterns and fireworks. River boats stop early, so plan your ride home.
