Bangkok Jazz Bars 2026: Where to Hear Live Jazz Night by Night
Bangkok jazz bars for 2026, from Bamboo Bar and Crimson Room to Smalls, Foojohn and Saxophone Pub, with which nights to go, dress codes and what it costs.

In this guide
Bangkok jazz bars split into two worlds. There are the grand hotel rooms, where a vocalist and quartet play to a dressed-up crowd over expensive martinis, and there are the small, smoky-feeling bars in old shophouses where you sit a metre from the drummer. Both are thriving in 2026, and on most nights of the week you can hear live jazz somewhere in the city.
This guide is about planning a jazz night: which bar suits which mood, which nights the music runs, and what to wear and spend. For the wider live music scene (indie stages, Thai rock pubs, arenas), see our Bangkok live music venues guide. For dated gigs, check concert listings.
Last checked: October 2026. Line-ups and days change; check each bar's page on the day.
The grand rooms
The Bamboo Bar, Mandarin Oriental
The riverside Bamboo Bar has been Bangkok's best-known jazz room for decades. A resident band and vocalist play Monday to Saturday, with a solo pianist on Sundays, from around 20:00. The room is small, low-lit and formal for Bangkok: smart dress, long trousers and closed shoes for men. Recent reports say tables are walk-in rather than reserved, so arrive early on weekends. Drinks are at luxury-hotel prices.
Getting there: BTS Saphan Taksin, then the hotel's shuttle boat from Sathorn pier or a short walk along Charoen Krung.
Crimson Room, Sindhorn Village (Lang Suan)
A newer, theatrical take on the supper club: velvet, a proper stage and jazz performances every evening. Recent listings show it open daily from 18:00 to 2:00, with house music later on weekends. There's no door fee, but drinks are priced at the top of the market. It's a short walk from BTS Chit Lom or BTS Ratchadamri along Lang Suan Road.
Firefly, Sindhorn Kempinski
Also on the Lang Suan side of Lumphini Park, Firefly is a jazz lounge with a spirits list of more than 370 bottles. It was ranked No. 78 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars 51 to 100 list for 2026. Signature cocktails were recently priced at roughly 490 to 650 THB.
ThreeSixty, Millennium Hilton
On the Thonburi bank, this glass-walled lounge on the 32nd floor pairs live jazz on most nights with a full river view. A good choice if you want jazz and a view in one stop. Take the hotel shuttle boat from Sathorn pier.
Small rooms and shophouse bars
Smalls, Suan Phlu
Smalls is a multi-level bar on Soi Suan Phlu, between Sathorn and Rama 4, with a dark, eclectic interior and a loyal crowd of regulars. Recent listings say live music, mostly soft jazz and soul, runs Wednesday to Monday, and it's closed on Tuesdays. There's normally no entry fee. It's a late-night place: arrive after 21:00. Take a taxi from MRT Lumphini or BTS Chong Nonsi.
Foojohn Jazz Club, Talat Noi
A small second-floor room in a shophouse off Charoen Krung Soi 31, in the old riverside quarter. Music runs roughly Wednesday to Sunday, and it's closed Monday and Tuesday. Combine it with dinner in Chinatown or a drink in one of Talat Noi's bars. Walk from MRT Hua Lamphong or take a boat to Marine Department pier.
Brown Sugar, Chinatown
Running since the mid-1980s, Brown Sugar now sits on Soi Nana in Chinatown. It typically plays an acoustic set early in the evening and a full band later, and it closes on Mondays. Entry is usually free. MRT Hua Lamphong or MRT Wat Mangkon.
Saxophone Pub, Victory Monument
The city's most famous live music bar has played jazz, blues, funk and soul nightly for well over 30 years. Recent listings show it open daily from about 18:00 to 2:00, with no entry fee on most nights (a special guest act may carry a charge). It is busy, friendly and not at all formal. A short walk from BTS Victory Monument.

Adhere the 13th, Samsen Road
Not jazz strictly, but the old town's tiny blues bar has a house band most nights from around 21:30. It's a few minutes' walk from Khao San Road and Phra Athit. Expect to share a table.
G.O.D (Genius on Drugs), Pom Prap
One of Asia's 50 Best Bars (No. 31 in 2026), G.O.D is a cocktail bar first, but its high-ceilinged, church-like room comes with live piano and neo-classical jazz. Good for a late drink after dinner in Chinatown.
Jazz by night of the week

Dress codes and costs

- Hotel rooms (Bamboo Bar, Crimson Room, Firefly, ThreeSixty): smart casual at a minimum, closer to smart at Bamboo Bar. Budget for cocktails in the 450 to 700 THB range plus service and VAT.
- Shophouse bars and pubs (Saxophone, Brown Sugar, Smalls, Foojohn): no dress code beyond being presentable. Beers and simple cocktails are much cheaper, and entry is usually free.
- Tipping: hotel bills include service charge. In small bars, putting a little in the band's tip jar or buying the musicians a drink is appreciated but not expected.
Planning a jazz night
Bangkok traffic makes hopping between bars across town slow, so pair venues that sit close together:
- Riverside: dinner on Charoen Krung, the first set at Bamboo Bar, then a late drink at Foojohn in Talat Noi.
- Lang Suan and Ratchadamri: Crimson Room and Firefly are a short walk apart, close to BTS Chit Lom and Ratchadamri.
- Chinatown: street food on Yaowarat, then Brown Sugar and G.O.D, both within a short ride.
- North: Saxophone Pub at Victory Monument pairs well with a bar crawl in Ari, two BTS stops away. For the rest of a night out, see our date night in Bangkok guide.
The best sets usually start after 21:00. Arrive by 20:30 at the small rooms if you want a seat near the band, and on Fridays and Saturdays reserve wherever the venue takes bookings (the Bamboo Bar is reported to be walk-in only).
Jazz festivals and one-off concerts
Beyond the bars, Bangkok hosts touring jazz artists in hotel ballrooms and theatres, and outdoor jazz nights in parks during the cool season (roughly November to February). These are listed with dates on our concerts page and the calendar. For the rest of the night, our cocktail bar guide and Bangkok nightlife guide pick up where the band stops.
