Night markets in Bangkok are one of the best-value nights out in the city: dinner from a dozen stalls, a cold beer, live music and some shopping, often for less than a single rooftop cocktail. They are also the part of the city that changes fastest. Leases end, sites get redeveloped and markets reopen under new names, so a lot of what you'll read online is out of date.

This guide covers the night markets running in late 2026, how to get to each, and what to eat and do once you're there, plus a list of closures. For daytime and weekend markets, including Chatuchak, see our best weekend markets in Bangkok guide. For dated pop-up markets and food fairs, check food and drink events.

Last checked: October 2026. Hours are from recent listings. Individual stalls keep their own hours, and rain can close outdoor markets early.

Ratchada: two markets, one evening

Ratchadaphisek Road is Bangkok's night market hub, and you can do both of its big markets in one evening from MRT Thailand Cultural Centre.

Jodd Fairs Ratchada

The busiest night market in central Bangkok sits next to Big C on Ratchadaphisek Road, a few minutes' walk from MRT Thailand Cultural Centre exit 4. It runs daily from about 17:00 to 1:00. Rows of food stalls are the main draw: the towering "volcano" pork-bone soup (leng saap) is the famous photo, alongside grilled seafood, Thai desserts and fruit. There are bars with live music and a fashion section.

The original Jodd Fairs Rama 9 closed in January 2025, and the DanNeramit branch has also closed, so make sure you're heading to the Ratchada site.

Train Night Market Ratchada

The market famous for its rows of coloured tents (best seen from the top floor of the Esplanade Ratchada car park) reopened on 27 March 2026 on its original plot behind Esplanade Ratchada, after years of closure and a spell as The One Ratchada, which closed in May 2025. Recent listings show it open daily from about 17:00 to 1:00, though one listing gives weekends only, so check before a weekday visit. Expect vintage stalls, container bars, live bands and plenty of food.

Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin

The original "train market", behind Seacon Square on Srinakarin Road, is the place for vintage: old furniture, signs, vinyl, classic cars and retro barbershops, plus a big food zone and bars. It runs Thursday to Sunday, roughly 17:00 to 1:00, with the full spread at weekends. Take the MRT Yellow Line to Suan Luang Rama IX, then walk about five minutes.

Chang Chui Creative Park, Thonburi

Built around a decommissioned airliner on Sirindhorn Road in Bang Phlat, Chang Chui mixes small galleries, design shops, bars, craft beer and food. It's open from late morning to about 23:00, closed on Wednesdays, with the evening zone livening up from around 16:00. It's best in the evening, when the lights come on. There's no station nearby, so take a taxi.

Riverside: Asiatique

Asiatique The Riverfront is an open-air mall built in old warehouses on Charoen Krung Road, with a Ferris wheel, restaurants, shops and the Calypso Cabaret. It is open daily, roughly 11:00 to midnight, with stalls busiest from about 17:00. Prices are fixed and higher than at the Ratchada markets, but it's easy, clean and great for families. Take BTS Saphan Taksin to Sathorn pier, then the free shuttle boat.

Street food at night: Yaowarat

Chinatown's main road isn't a market as such, but at night it becomes Bangkok's biggest open-air food street. Stalls set up from about 18:00 and run to around midnight, peaking near 21:00. Look for seafood, noodles, roast duck, oyster omelettes, bird's nest soup and Chinese desserts, and expect queues at the famous names. Use MRT Wat Mangkon exit 3. Afterwards, the area's cocktail bars are a short walk away.

Patpong Night Market, Silom

In the middle of Silom's nightlife strip, Patpong's market sells souvenirs, clothes and copy goods most evenings from about 18:00 to midnight. Bargain politely, and ignore touts offering "shows" upstairs. BTS Sala Daeng or MRT Silom. More in our Silom night out guide.

Further out

  • Chatuchak Friday night: the weekend market's Friday evening session, roughly 18:00 to midnight, leans towards wholesale fashion buyers. Fewer souvenir and food stalls than at weekends.
  • Liab Duan Ramintra on Pradit Manutham Road, by the Ramintra expressway, is a big local market for cheap eats, fashion and grilled seafood. Taxi only.
  • Hua Mum Market on Kaset-Nawamin Road is popular with Thai groups for giant sharing dishes. Taxi only.

Night market tips

  • Go after 19:00 when everything is open, but before 21:00 if you want to avoid the biggest crowds.
  • Bring cash. Many stalls take Thai QR payments, but cards are rarely accepted, so carry baht.
  • Prices: most snacks and single dishes are around 40 to 150 THB; the big sharing plates and seafood cost more. Check prices before ordering seafood sold by weight.
  • Rain: in the rainy season (roughly May to October), outdoor markets may close early in a storm. The covered sections at Jodd Fairs and Asiatique are your best bet.
  • Getting home: Ratchada is on the MRT, but last trains leave around midnight. Grab and Bolt are easy from all the main markets.

Pair a market with a night out: Ratchada is close to the RCA clubs (see our clubs guide), and Yaowarat is next to Chinatown's bars. Our Bangkok nightlife guide has the full picture.
